The Long Arm Octopus has a reddish brown body and small white spots, however colors may vary depending on environment and mood. The arms may reach a length of 36 inches with the body being only 7 inches. Their protruding eyes rise upwards from the body.
The Long Arm Octopus can be very difficult to acclimate into a new environment. They prefer low lighting and suitable water conditions. Have plenty of secured live rock in the tank and seal all openings that may invite the octopus.
The octopus will feed on many crustaceans. Feed a variety of meaty foods including shrimp, clam and scallop meat. For added nutrition soak frozen meaty foods in vitamin supplements.
