Description
The Asfur Angelfish or Arabian Angelfish has a blue to purple body with a yellow vertical ban down the center of the body. The tail fin is also yellow which is different than the hardier Maculosus Angel. Juveniles are similar but have more faded colors and white vertical lines.
The Asfur Angelfish is timid and needs plenty of concealment areas in the aquarium, especially when first introduced. Keep only one Asfur Angelfish with other peaceful fish; possibly add the Asfur last to the community tank because it may harass more passive fish. Have plenty of live rock for grazing and shelter. Will nip at corals and small invertebrates.
Feed a variety of vitamin-enriched foods; include marine algae and meaty foods as part of the diet. Consider Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets to provide the necessary protein and vitamins angelfish need.
