The Orange Toadfish is known as the foghorn or Oyster Cracker ; this unique fish has a molted yellowish to orange body that is tapered towards the tail fin. The head is flattened with a wide gapping mouth. Small barbs and flaps are found around the lower jaw and gills.
The Orange Toadfish is a bottom dweller and usually can thrive in less than ideal water conditions; small passing prey will fall victim to this camouflage attacker. House single or with non-competing larger aggressive fish. Provide soft substrate and plenty of live rock for shelter.
The Orange Toadfish will consume a wide range of food including silversides, shrimp and squid.
