The Brown Bird Wrasse female has a unique protruding beak and is brown in color. The males are green.
This hardy and unique looking wrasse does well in a captive environment if provided with adequate swimming area and generous live rock for shelter. Both male and female can be housed in the same tank if introduced simultaneously. The bird wrasse can use its beak to easily dissect hidden organisms in crevices. They are active jumpers and can propel themselves out of open tanks. Keep with same size tank mates. May attack small invertebrates.
The wrasse will consume a wide variety of foods. Feed vitamin enriched frozen and dry foods. Train your wrasse to eat Ocean Nutrition Pellet Food for a healthy diet.
