The Green Carpet Anemone or Saddle Anemone is one of the hardier carpet anemones and can grow up to 31 inches. Its beautiful short green tentacles create a wavy body form that seems to drape or carpet over the marine terrain.
The Green Carpet Anemone requires full lighting and adequate water movement. Have a variety of anchoring locations to choose from including an open thick sandy bottom. Clownfish hosted by the Green Carpet Anemone are the two banded clownfish or clarki.
Acclimate very slowly over a period of hours for best results. This anemone contains very sticky stinging cells; use rubber gloves to handle.
The anemone uses photosynthesis and turns light into nutrients. They also filter algae and other organisms in the surrounding water column where they are anchored. Supplement its diet with meaty foods such as shrimp, krill, clams and worms. Soak foods in vitamin solution for added nutrition.
