The Blue Leg Hermit Crab lives in an uninhabited snail shell. The crab is colored in red, white and blue, and makes for an attractive specimen.
The Blue Leg Hermit Crab will consume troublesome algae, uneaten food, detritus and cyanobacteria, which is a blue green bacteria. Keep one crab per one gallon of water. House with peaceful fish such as tangs, ocellaris clownfish and dartfish. These crabs may attack snails in search of upgrading their shells; keep a supply of trade-up shells on the substrate.
Crabs are aggressive scavengers and will leave no stone unturned to seek food. Supplement their diet with algae, small meaty foods and pellet foods such as Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets.
