The Mexican Red Leg Hermit Crab is found in abundance in the waters around Mexico, living in abandoned snail shells. This crab has a red head and legs.
The Mexican Red Leg will show no mercy when it comes to scavenging algae and detritus on the live rock and substrate. It’s a great choice for reef or friendly fish system. These crabs may attack snails in search of upgrading their shells; keep a supply of trade-up shells on the substrate.
Crabs are aggressive scavengers and will leave no stone unturned to seek food. Supplement their diet with algae, small meaty foods and pellet foods such as Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets.
