The Red Reef Hermit Crab has a bright red body that is covered with tiny white spots. Fine hairs cover the legs and it has large robust pincher claws.
The Red Reef Hermit Crab has an insatiable appetite for most anything except for algae. The Red Reef Crab can grow very large over time and can be very destructive ; best housed with larger peaceful fish. Have plenty of secure rock work and thick sandy substrate. Keep one as the only invertebrate.
Crabs are aggressive scavengers and will leave no stone unturned to seek food. Supplement their diet with algae, small meaty foods and pellet foods such as Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets.
