Description
The Kuruma Shrimp or Japanese tiger prawn is one of the largest prawn species. It has a beige body with brown bands wrapping around its body and blue accents on its tail fin.
This species of prawn is commercially farmed but can also make an interesting inhabitant of a specialized environment to observe. This shrimp needs minimal water conditions and will eat a variety of meaty foods including vegetable matter.
Marine shrimp are very resourceful in finding their own food but it will be necessary to supplementing their diet with small food pellets and flake food; also include minced meaty foods.
