The Colored Mantis Shrimp has an infamous reputation. This camo colored shrimp is a highly skilled predator that will come out to feed at night. Known for it's unique behavior and awesome prowess, this beautiful creature is said to be very intelligent.
The Colored Mantis Shrimp when fully grown can damage thin glass tanks and is best kept in a thick acrylic tank. Can be kept with larger fish but best in their own tank. Thick sand beds or small rubble with live rock make good natural burrow areas. Handle with care, as this shrimp can inflict deep cuts on the skin.
Marine shrimp are very resourceful in finding their own food but it will be necessary to supplementing their diet with small food pellets and flake food; also include minced meaty foods.
