Description
The Pistol Shrimp or Snapping Shrimp have a light orange body with 2 different sized front pincher claws. The larger claw can make a loud clicking or popping sound.
The Pistol Shrimp has a symbiotic relationship with gobies and will share the same burrow. Keep low lighting with a thick sandy substrate with loose rubble. Smaller peaceful fish make good tank-mates.
Marine shrimp are very resourceful in finding their own food but it will be necessary to supplementing their diet with small food pellets and flake food; also include minced meaty foods.
