The Chocolate Chip Sea Star or Nodular Sea Star is a thick-bodied beige star with dark tubercles or mounds that resemble chocolate chips.
The Chocolate Chip Sea Star is a very popular and relatively hardy selection for a friendly fish system. Have a well-established tank with thick substrate preferably with sand and plenty of live rock. More than one can be kept together in larger tanks. Starfish can be harmed by rapid changes in water quality, medications and aggressive fish like puffers and triggerfish. It very important to acclimate them using the drip method.
Starfish will feed on waste, small organisms, invertebrates and algae in the rock and substrate. Also supplement their diet with small minced meaty foods such as clams, squid and shrimp.
