Description
The Banded Butterflyfish has a white metallic disc shaped body with two large vertical black bands going down its center region. There is a smaller black band over the eyes and caudal fin.
The Banded Butterflyfish is a good choice for a first butterflyfish. It is relatively durable and peaceful and can be kept in small groups or with other butterflyfish. In the wild the Banded Butterflyfish will eat zooplankton from the water columns, as well as fan worms, and parasites off of other fish. Once in captivity it will accept a wide range of foods.
To initiate feeding, offer a variety of small frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp and cyclopeeze. Train your butterflyfish to eat Formula One Small Pellets or Flakes for a healthy diet.
