Description
The Copperband Butterflyfish, or Beaked Coralfish has yellowish -orange vertical bands running down its white body with a black dot on the back corner of its dorsal fin. The long protruding mouth is for probing into small areas for tiny organisms.
The Copperband Butterflyfish has a low rating on acclimating to new environments. Provide the most favorable conditions by housing in a well-established tank with a generous population of copepods in the live rock and substrate. Keep the Copperbanded Butterflyfish singly or as a mated pair in a peaceful fish-only tank. Will nip at corals and invertebrates and not recommended for a reef tank.
To initiate feeding, offer a variety of small frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp and cyclopeeze. Train your butterflyfish to eat Formula One Small Pellets or Flakes for a healthy diet.
