The Speckled Damsel or Fire Damsel is brown with blue spots on center body. It has bright blue lateral lines on the head, one of which runs along the dorsal midline. There is a black outlined eye spot on the dorsal fin rays. The caudal fin is white. Adults will become more muted brown.
The Speckled Damsel is an excellent beginner fish and can be kept in small groups in larger tanks. As they mature, they can become very territorial and may need to be relocated with more moderately aggressive species. Have plenty of live rock for shelter and ample swimming area in the tank. It is not advisable to keep the Speckled Damsel in a reef tank or with invertebrates.
