Description
The Swallowtail is also known as the Blackspot Angelfish. Females have a light gray to yellow body. The light blue tail is shaped in a V with a black outline. Males will have thin black vertical stripes down the body.
These angelfish are the best choice for reef tanks and will pose no threat to corals or invertebrates. They need lots of swimming space and plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. Keep one male per tank. More than one female can be introduced in larger tanks.
Feed a variety of vitamin-enriched foods; include marine algae and meaty foods as part of the diet. Consider Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets to provide the necessary protein and vitamins angelfish need.
