The Flame Wrasse or Jordan’s Wrasse is found in the waters around Hawaii. It has a radiant red body with a long arching dorsal fin. Females of this species are not as distinguished.
This fish should be kept with other peaceful fish and can be housed in a fish-only tank with live rock (FOWLR) or reef tank. It will not harm invertebrates and adapts readily to aquarium life. More than one female can be added to the tank with one male. Have plenty of live rock with lots of good hiding places and thick sandy substrate. The Flame Wrasse is known for jumping; make sure you have a snug lid on the aquarium.
The wrasse will consume a wide variety of foods. Feed vitamin enriched frozen and dry foods. Train your wrasse to eat Ocean Nutrition Pellet Food for a healthy diet.
