The Tiger Reef Eel or Leopard Eel is a moray eel found in coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. It has a beige body with small to large black spotting throughout its body, the large tube nostrils on the mouth give this eel a keen sense of smell ; the rounder head and mouth and squared teeth indicates that it feeds on clams, mussels and shrimp in the wild.
The Tiger Reef Eel is hardy and does well in captivity; for a home base provide the Tiger Reef Eel with lots of anchored live rock. Keep only one with aggressive tank mates and have good sealing on the overflows and lids. Not recommended in a reef tank or with invertebrates. Feed with feeding stick to ensure your eel gets food.
