Description
The Speckled Moray Eel or spotted Moray Eel has plentiful brown and white specks on its body to form a granite-looking pattern. The head and mouth are very formidable looking.
The Speckled Moray Eel is found wide spread in the Indo-Pacific in rock and crevices on the reefs. The Speckled Moray will deliver a painful bite if provoked. Keep with larger aggressive fish and have lots of anchored live rock for shelter; also have good sealing on the overflows and lids. Best to keep only one per tank. The Speckled Moray is not recommended for a reef tank.
Eels will eat all meaty foods including fish, shrimp, squid, and some frozen prepared foods. Use a long feeding rod to feed your eel. They can be trained to associate when it’s feeding time.
