The Saddled Filefish or Mimic Filefish mimics the poisonous Valentine Puffer very well, with some minor exceptions; one being it has two clear dorsal fins, while the puffer has only one. The Mimic Filefish has four black saddles wrapping the top of its body with white and brown colorations underneath. The tail fin is decorated in a faint yellow.
This is one of the hardiest filefish. Best when kept single in a friendly fish system. Have lots of live rock in the tank for grazing and exploring. Not recommended with invertebrates.
The filefish will eat a variety of small meaty foods such as enriched brine shrimp and mysis shrimp; also include marine algae.
