The Red Frogfish or Spotfin frogfish may come in various colors depending on its phase; usually contrasting from yellow to red.
The Red Frogfish is equipped with a dangling lure above its head and will attract small fish within striking distance and swallow unsuspecting fish whole. They will usually rest on live rock or the substrate. Provide plenty of live rock with sandy substrate in a peaceful community tank. Keep one per tank. The Red Frogfish will eat smaller fish and crustaceans.
For feeding the frogfish you may need to start with live feeder fish such as guppies or small minnow goldfish than transition to healthier frozen meaty foods.
