The Sargassum frogfish is dull yellow to orangish-brown with many molted whited flakes and dark spots. The Sargassum frogfish’s skin overlaps, which enables it to blend in even better.
The Sargassum frogfish gets its name from the Sargassum seaweed it hides in. In your tank it will usually rest on live rock or the substrate waiting for a meal. Provide plenty of live rock with sandy substrate. The Sargassum frogfish will eat smaller fish and crustaceans double its own size.
For feeding the frogfish you may need to start with live feeder fish such as guppies or small minnow goldfish than transition to healthier frozen meaty foods. Do not overfeed.
