The Blue Blanquillo is a member of the tilefish family, however as a juvenile looks much like a goby. It has a long slender body with a thick horizontal black band going down the center body with thinner white bands on either side. Dark bands on adults will become blue.
The Blue Blanquillo is relatively hardy if fed often. Can be timid at first but will quickly become bolder and is a very intersting fish to watch. Have plenty of swimming space available and plenty of live rock with thick sandy substrate. Keep with other larger carnivore feeding fish. Invertebrates will not be safe. Have a snug lid on aquarium at all times.
Its diet should include a variety of live and frozen brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, live worms, and prepared foods for carnivores.
