The Engineer Goby or Convict Goby as a juvenile will have black and light blue horizontal stripes down its tadpole-like body. As an adult, it will have black and white to yellow erratic vertical bands throughout its snake-like body.
The Engineer Goby is a peaceful fish and does well in medium sized tanks if provided with a well-established system with plenty of live rock and a thick sandy substrate for grazing and shelter; can be kept in small groups if added simultaneously.
The Engineer's Goby diet should include a variety of live and frozen brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, live worms, and prepared foods for carnivores.
