The Fire Goby or Firefish is a bright multicolored goby with a tall dorsal fin. The head is yellow which turns to white then to a glowing magenta to the tail; the eyes have a blue accent.
The Fire Goby is interesting to watch because when they swim the dorsal fin will pulse or flicker. They are peaceful fish that will hover several inches below the water surface in wait to feed on drifting organisms or may occasionally feed off the bottom substrate. Keep only one per tank unless mated pairs. Can jump out of open aquariums.
Its diet should include a variety of live and frozen brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, live worms, and prepared foods for carnivores.
