The Coney Grouper has various color forms depending on its mood and location throughout the Caribbean and Atlantic. It usually has a red, orange and brown body covered with tiny blue spots or may change to a two-toned red and white with blue spots.
They are relatively small and sleek, capable of feeding in shallow or deep water in the wild. A 150 gal tank will be adequate. Provide plenty of live rock for shelter. Keep only one per tank. They will eat anything that will fit into their mouth including smaller fish and crustaceans.
Feed a variety of meaty foods such as silversides and frozen shrimp. Try saturating food in liquid vitamins and garlic for good fish health.
