The Marine Beta or Comet is a very stunning fish. It has a dark brown to black body with starry white iridescent spots. It has a black eyespot toward the back of the dorsal fin.
In the wild at night they are very opportunistic and will prey on small shrimp and fish. This fairly hardy fish may hide in the live rock during the day. Small to medium sizes are better to purchase because they will adjust better in captivity. Have plenty of live rock with caves for shelter with low water current.
They can be very picky eaters at first; start with live ghost shrimp, then transition them to healthy frozen meaty foods.
