The Longnose Hawkfish has a white elongated body with a crosshatching of red lines through-out. It has a protruding snout with sharp teeth for picking out small crustaceans and dismantling them.
The Longnose Hawkfish is a great choice for small reef tank. It is hardy and will spend most of its time perching. Can be kept single or in mated pairs, however watch for aggressive behavior. Provide plenty of live rock to inhabit. They may attack slower moving smaller fish and shrimp in the tank. Can jump out of opening in aquarium.
Most hawkfish will eat a variety of frozen meaty foods. Try to train your hawkish to eat Ocean Nutrition Pellets for a healthy diet.
