Description
The Lyretail Hawkfish or Swallowtail Hawkfish has a reddish splotchy body with a beautiful flowing tail that makes it distinguishable.
The Lyretail Hawkfish is a unique hawkfish and spends more time swimming than perching. It is a good reef candidate provided there are no small invertebrates. Have good water movement and ledges for resting. More than one can be kept in larger tanks when added simultaneously. May eat smaller fish and invertebrates.
Most hawkfish will eat a variety of frozen meaty foods. Try to train your hawkish to eat Ocean Nutrition Pellets for a healthy diet.
