The Coral Hogfish or Eclipse Hogfish as a juvenile has various shades of purple on the body with sparse yellow spotting. As an adult the anterior portion of the body is purple, separated by vertical black band than white and yellow at the posterior.
The Coral Hogfish is very hardy but poses the most attitude of the hogfishes. Best to keep with other aggressive fish that are equal in size. Provide adequate swimming area and cover for the Coral Hogfsh. Will attack smaller fish and invertebrates.
Feed a variety of meaty foods. Train your hogfish to accept Ocean Nutrition Pellets for a healthy diet.
