The Saddleback Hogfish or Hawaiian Hogfish has a whitish torpedo shaped body with a host of thin dark horizontal lines running the length of the fish. There is an irregular black band at the end of the body before the tail fin. Most fin coloration may be yellow depending on maturity of fin.
The Saddleback Hogfish is best housed in a fish-only community, preferably large due to its potential size. Keep the Saddleback Hogfish with larger moderately aggressive fish that can fend for themselves. This hardy hogfish when fully grown will eat smaller fish and invertebrates.
Feed a variety of meaty foods. Train your hogfish to accept Ocean Nutrition Pellets for a healthy diet.
