The Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish or Shortfin Lionfish has beautifully designed pectoral fins. The compact body has brownish red vertical bands as well as fan-like pectoral fins.
The Fuzzy Dwarf is nocturnal with very little or no movement during the day; you will see them camouflaged on a piece of live rock. They are difficult to feed but be patient, with time they will respond frantically when it’s feeding time. The short fan-like dorsal fins can deliver a painful sting. The Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish stay fairly small like their name implies.
Lionfish will eat all meaty foods and it’s good to vary their diet, however it is best to train them to eat vitamin enriched foods such as Ocean Nutrition to maintain good health.
