The Coral Catfish or Striped Eel Catfish has a black body with yellowish white lateral stripes down its body. The mouth has small protruding whiskers and the tail section is very eel-like, having a tapered tail fin.
The Coral Catfish are delicate when small and care should be taken when introducing into new aquarium, once they are acclimated and comfortable the Coral Catfish is a hardy voracious scavenger and will leave no stone unturned when searching for food. They are best kept in groups and will school together. Give the Coral Catfish a generous size tank to grow, adults will lose their striping and become muted. May eat smaller fish and invertebrates.
Caution, Coral Catfish can pack a venomous sting through its dorsal and pectoral spines.
