The Stoplight Parrotfish or Dark Green Parrotfish go through different color phases. In the initial phase the fish has a white scale patterned body with a reddish underside and red fins. The last phase is a bluish green colored body with a yellow spot next to the pectoral fin and caudal fin which gives this fish it name Stoplight.
This common inhabitant of the Caribbean Sea, the Stoplight Parrotfish is a very active feeder and will require a well-established large tank with ample swimming area as it grows, have plenty of live rock for grazing and shelter. Will eat small fish and invertebrates.
Parrotfish are very difficult to house in captivity due to their specific requirements.
