The Trumpet Fish has a long tubular body with an elongated snout and small jaws. The body is brownish green and sometimes yellow. They are camouflaged predators that swim vertically and sneak up on their prey by acting like a branchy object floating in the water.
Trumpet Fish are relatively hardy fish and very interesting fish to watch. They can be housed singly or with other predator fish in larger tanks. They will accept most small fish and should be fed daily. An adequate filtration system will be necessary.
Initially offer live shrimp, over time try frozen mysis shrimp and other small meaty fare. We recommend soaking your frozen foods in Vitality which is a liquid vitamin, amino acid, and trace element supplement.
