The Harlequin Sweetlips or Spotted Sweetlips is a species of grunt ; as a juvenile it has a light brown body and large white spots with oversized rounded fins while adults have white body with black spots.
The Spotted Sweetlips is interesting to watch as they swim with their large pectoral fins. Provide ample swimming area with live rock for shelter. They are difficult to feed, housing with peaceful tank mates gives the Spotted Sweetlips a chance to eat. Try live feeder shrimp then transition to frozen preparations after your sweetlips is fully acclimated in its new surroundings. Juveniles can be housed together but will need larger tanks. Will eat small invertebrates.
Provide a variety of frozen meaty food such as silversides, shrimp, krill and Mysis Shrimp.
