The Oriental Sweetlips or Oriental Dogfish goes through a dramatic color transformation. As a juvenile it will have a brown and white irregular spots that are outlined in a yellow tint on its elongated body. As an adult it has a white to gray body with tiny black spots on the upper body that turn into slanted lines. There is yellowing on the fins with tiny black spots.
They are difficult to feed, try live feeder shrimp then transition to frozen preparations after your sweetlips is fully acclimated in its new surroundings. Keeping with peaceful tank mates gives the sweetlips a chance to eat. Juveniles can be housed together but will need large tanks. Will eat small invertebrates.
Provide a variety of frozen meaty food such as silversides, shrimp, krill and Mysis Shrimp.
