The Black Bar Soldierfish or Big Eye Soldierfish has a shiny red body with white accents outlining the fins. There is a darkened vertical bar at the gill area that gives the Black Bar its name.
The Black Bar Soldierfish will be timid when first introduced and will seek out shelter during the day. Provide plenty of good hiding places. Can be kept in small groups in larger tanks that will congregate over structures. Provide good water movement. Will eat smaller fish and invertebrates.
They well eat a wide variety of meaty foods including frozen shrimp and chopped squid. Train your Squirrelfish to eat Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets on a regular basis for adequate nutrition.
