The Powder Brown Tang or White-faced Surgeonfish has brilliant orange and black highlights on its dorsal fins but is more recognizable by its white marking on each side of the face.
The Powder Brown Tang will be hard to acclimate if picked on but once acclimated will soon be part of the Pack. Provide lots of live rock for grazing and shelter. Keep only one per tank with other peaceful fish.
Have plenty of live rock in your tank. Tangs will graze on the live rock and it will provide necessary hiding areas and swim pass-throughs.
Tangs will eat just about all fish foods; Ocean Nutrition Pellets are a perfect diet. Feed tangs with plenty of marine-based seaweed, as this will keep them healthy. Try putting seaweed on a veggie clip, or break into small pieces and feed 2-3 times per week. Ocean Nutrition Seaweed contains garlic which helps the immune system in these colorful fish.
