Description

The Blue and Green Pencil Wrasse or Smailtail Wrasse male has a blue to green color with a blue and yellow horizontal stripe. Females are pinkish orange with yellow fins.

 

Initial feeding can be difficult with the Blue and Green Pencil Wrasse, and you may start off with small feeder shrimp then gradually train them to eat prepared food.  They may treat a reef tank like a buffet; also use caution around all invertebrates.  Have lots of good hiding places, a thick sandy substrate and a nice snug-fitting top for the tank.
