The Cigar Wrasse also known as the Sharp-Nosed Wrasse is found wide spread in the Indo-Pacific. Juveniles have a narrow body and are a faded green or brown in color. Females have horizontal brown or green stripes on their long cylindrical body. Males have a scale patterned body that is gray to brown. It has an orange and black mark behind the pectoral fins.
They can grow large and predatory and are not suitable for a reef tank. They should be kept in a fish-only tank with other larger semi-aggressive fish of adequate size. The Cigar Wrasse will eat any and all invertebrates in the tank.
The wrasse will consume a wide variety of meaty foods. Feed vitamin enriched frozen and dry foods.
