Description
The Twistii Wrasse or Yellowchest Twist Wrasse is a member of the tamarin wrasse. It is a very attractive fish that has a muted fuchsia colored body with a yellow breast; the yellow runs up to the lower jaw. It has tiny iridescent blue spots on the body and two larger eye spots on the dorsal fin and anal fin that make it look like a more formidable fish.
This fish requires a larger tank with mature rock work to probe for small organisms. An established reef aquarium or refugium type aquarium is best. They are somewhat tricky to feed and may require live feeder shrimp to initiate feeding. Keep only one per tank in a peaceful environment with angels or tangs of larger size. They are good jumpers and require a tight-fitting lid. Have lots of good hiding places and thick sandy substrate. Will eat invertebrates.
The wrasse will consume a wide variety of foods. Feed vitamin enriched frozen and dry foods. Train your wrasse to eat Ocean Nutrition Pellet Food for a healthy diet.
