The Wounded Wrasse juvenile is mostly brown with red shading on the fins. Adults have a light green body with pink molting and yellowing on the breast and red spot above the pectoral fin which gives them their common name.
They have an insatiable appetite for invertebrates. In the wild they stay active during the day foraging for brittle stars, sea urchins and crustaceans. Keep only one per tank with semi-aggressive fish the same size. Have plenty of live rock with lots of good hiding places and thick sandy substrate. Will eat invertebrates.
The wrasse will consume a wide variety of foods. Feed vitamin enriched frozen and dry foods. Train your wrasse to eat Ocean Nutrition Pellet Food for a healthy diet.
