Surgeonfish & Tang
There are over 80 species of surgeonfish or tangs all over the world. The name “surgeonfish” comes from their sharp spines at the base of their tail. Surgeonfish are herbivores and spend most of their time in the shallow waters near coral reefs feeding on algae.
Surgeonfish are relaxing to watch and provide beauty in the home aquarium environment. They come in a wide assortment of colors and shapes. They are generally peaceful but can be territorial; it is best to add all surgeonfish into the aquarium at the same time.
